Up for sale is my beautiful 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible showing 75K Miles with the numbers matching engine and transmission. It has been repainted it's original Code 76, Daytona Yellow. This car has a very interesting story behind it. It was restored in 1987 by a 14 year old kid. He started saving money in 1984, when he was 11 years old from his paper route. He invested $7,000 into the car & restoration. When it was complete, he went to insure it, he assumed he could get classic car insurance. They would not issue him classic tags, which increased his insurance from $300.00 to $1,200.00. It's remarkable the car has been restored to this calibur and still holds integrety. The car is stunning. Mostly all GM parts were used in the restoration. I have just about every receipt from the work that was done. This car runs and drives excellent, one of the better driving classic cars I have had.
The engine is a very powerful 327 with a 4bbl carburetor. It has power steering which works great. The engine compartment is detailed and very clean. I drove this car over 60 miles today and it ran excellent. It has very impressive power and everything operates as it should. The transmission doesn't miss a beat. I would say it has road gears which make it practical to cruise at about 70mph on the interstate.
The interior is in very nice shape. A small scratch in the drivers seat butt. Otherwise the upholstery is very nice. The carpeting is in good shape. The dash pad is not cracked and in great shape. Dash/instrument cluster is very clean and everything operates. The factory AM/FM radio works better than my 04' Jetta, on both channels. All seatbelts are present and operable. All the turn signals/marker lights/green dash lights work. It has a NON power top that is in good shape. It does have some piping frayed on the drivers side (tried to picture). The rear window is a little cloudy because of it's age and it's plastic. The boot is in excellent shape.
The car has had quarter panels (GM) installed. Otherwise, I believe all the other sheetmetal to be original to the car. All the cocktail shakers are present. The undercarriage is very impressive with no signs of rust anywhere. It is VERY clean, look at the pictures. Rockers still have spot welds visable. The chrome is in excellent shape.
