Description: For Sale:
1964 GTO Hardtop
Barn find off road since 1974
Project
Clear NJ title in my hand.
PHS documented GTO
Car is not running, but rolls very easily
Original power train is gone. Was originally 4 brl, 3 spd, 3.23 open rear car. Saddle Bronze with black vinyl top black interior bucket seats and consol. 4 wheel manual drums, power steering.
Have 1974 Pontiac 455 (not SD), was pulled from running car, including early GTO pulleys, and accessory drive brackets, have 4 barrel intake, 64 GTO carb,64 air cleaner and 66-67 exhaust manifolds to put the 455 in and look close to stock. They are 66 and 67 GTO parts which fit the 455. Rebuilt m20 64 case with no vin number, and did large pin conversion 4 speed with rods, and reverse bracket, MOTOR AND TRANS ARE NOT IN CAR has 66 posi-traction rear in it, but have 64 rear complete drum to drum with upper and lower control arm to go with car (not original, but correct rear for year) Also have set of upper and lower control arms, spindles and drums for front end.
Has consol, over a grand if you can find one, have both correct 4sp GTO shifter and linkage, and Hurst setup (shifter and linkage), standard steering wheel, AM radio, vinyl top car. Have ALL trim for the car, Have full interior but 65 rear seat, for the car, and factory tachometer, no carpet. Has GM steel wheels with Pontiac dog dish hubcaps (Ames reproductions), and new Goodyear tires.
The car has been off the road since the 70’s and stored indoors. The car has never been repainted, so you can see there was no body work done on the car. Driver’s quarter needs replacement below the lower belt line like bottom 3 inches. Needs filler panel between rear window and trunk lid. Trunk floor needs to be replaced. Main floor good, rockers are excellent. Doors and front fenders are excellent. 1inner fender has small rust hole, but I have a pair or original GTO inner fenders that also go with the car. Hood is not original to the car, but is a steel 64 GTO hood, 2 grand if you can find it, before getting to this coast. Have radiator (needs to be recored) and steel fan shroud, all glass in intact and in excellent condition. Frame is straight, and solid no rust. All stainless is in very good to excellent condition; pot metal is 47 years old, so yes pitted but can be repaired. Bumpers need to be rechromed. Aluminum trim is all very VERY straight.
Basically all parts I have accumulated for this car go with it, not hold back any “special part” to sell later.
Original owner was in Williamstown NJ, looks like car has never left 50 miles from where it currently is.
Not looking for a trade, cash only, can assist with loading.
