German Shepherd police dog, good doggie

This criminal doesnt realize how fast the dog is at jumping OVER a car. The muzzle blast from the dude's gun is barely gone and the dog has him nailed. This is awesome to watch.
Good Doggie give him a steak.

I'm sure he expected it, looks like a training film to me, unless the guy wears big padded outfits like that all the time...

At any rate, good training from the dog's point of view.
Can you imagine the agility needed by a human being to do the same manuvers?

Especially with no pants on. Thump Mr. Wiggly on the side of the car as you take a headfirst leap over it and you probably won't be much use after that...

Thumbs up Re: German Shepherd police dog, good doggie

The dog has no idea if it's real or a training session. His response is the same, and to him it's all about play and fun. Nice doggie...!! I have one trained the same way...almost, he's older now. Just come to our front door. He will greet you "happily".

Re: German Shepherd police dog, good doggie

It's amazing what instincts and training can acomplish. You know the dog is ALWAYS motivated. Another great example of why they are man's best friend as well as man's most loyal friend!

Re: German Shepherd police dog, good doggie

I'm not so sure it is a training film. The other officers have their weapons drawn and pionted at the suspect. The K9 takes down the suspect and all officers surround the suspect with guns still drawn. The heavy coat the suspect is wearing has a fur or sheepskin collar or liner, not ypical stuff protective gear is made of. I trained K9's in the 80's and I can tell you, they are one fine animal and one great pet.

I believe the padded suit that the officers wear during those training sessions also includes protection for the lower portion of the body and no padding is visible on the lower portion of man firing the gun.
