Camaro salvage yards

Back in the day i used to hit the salvage yards when there were still plenty of good used parts around. It seems now there is nothing anywhere. Anybody know of any yards or anyone that just has used Camaro parts for sale? For instance when I had my 69 Judge in the 80's I could just call Bethals's Goat Farm in San Jose, Ca. or Purely PMD in Albuquerque, New Mexico for used parts. Anything online?

How about used dated component? I used to get Hemmings years ago and there always seem to be someone selling dated components for various muscle cars.

Re: Camaro salvage yards

Just checked out a Camaro source in western Canada where I guy that I know used to have a lot full of first and second gen Camaros... and still has about 14 of them still in various stages of...needing restore, as evidenced by looking at his web page set up just now.

So, you might want to check this site out at David T', eh? As you pointed out... these salvage lots are becoming fewer and fewer, becoming treasure troves.

Re: Camaro salvage yards

There was a local yard here that had about 20 first gens in various stages of rust and rot back in the 1980s....the pick of the litter was a 67 convertible RS/SS 350 4 speed car that was the only one under a carport. the guy also had 5 or 6 66-67 chevelles, and more than a handful of other performance chevy musclecars. He had a bunch of first gen parts too.In about 1997-8 he gave me a figure for all of it, which was very attractive but I was in no position to fork over that kind of dough and had nowhere to put some of the stuff much less all of it. About a year later he sold it all but some of the shells are still there, and trust me when i say they are way gone for anything.

Re: Camaro salvage yards

There is a place down south of me that has "Camaro parts all years"
Adverts on Craiglists weekly.
Have no idea as to what this place is like.

Re: Camaro salvage yards

DANG! I can't remember the third one.

Hey, there are two yards close to me, one has loads of second and third gen. cars, the other has third and fourth. I know you guys want first gens. though. My area is NOT that blessed. I'm VERY lucky to see what I have seen already. The scrap prices a couple years ago were no help either (in a small way, I kind of fed that market, bringing in crushed appliances, cans, bikes and other junk across the scale every few weeks).
