Looks like the invisible Camaro, eh?

Good luck on your project. I admire your intent on this project. You don't seem to have much in the way of reference points in the rear area?

Double good luck.

Re: Time to get down !

I will probably take some heat on this one but that is okay. With all that needing replacing and the cowl/firewall removed along with upper dash. Wouldn't you be better off time and money wise buying the reproduction body. Seems like when your done that is what you will have anyway.

The difference is this car has a clean title unlike a repop.
When I get done with her the fit and finish will be much better than the repro, which are known to not look very good.

Besides I just love the challenge.

I think I still see some rust in there that you need to cut out.

If I had that kind of talent, space and time I would probably do the same thing.Don't get me wrong here I can appreciate why you are doing it. But when you say the car has a clean title, what car? When you are done you will still have to rerivit the vin on resecure the trim tag and since you are replacing the cowl panel probably cut in the hidden vin near the fan hole. Isn't it the same thing.

I see your point. It will be 95% new sheet metal.
The reproduction bodies I have seen did not look that hot. By doing it myself I can control the quality of the fit and finish and I can do it cheaper.

Besides I just can't help but try and save as many first gens as I can.
I am addicted.

I am sure it will come out great. How much do you think the metal only will cost you for the shell?
