Carbon Fiber hood on 1st gen

Has anyone purchased one of these ? And if so, is there any problems ? I see they look great. There is one on Ebay right now for sale, but i would like to hear feedback first. Anyone ?

Re: Carbon Fiber hood on 1st gen

Maybe I'm just getting old....just not a good look in my opinion...

I think if you painted it the same color as the car it might look ok. Nothing beats a period correct factory SS hood or a cowl induction hood as far as I'm concerned.

They're not cheap, that's for sure. The biggest problem you might have is unlike a metal hood, if it doesn't fit perfectly, there's really not much you can do it...

i agree, i dont think a carbon fiber hood would serve any purpose on a 1st gen, i mean weight savings, maybe, but the car is a huge hunk of steel.

i would only put a carbon fiber hood on my car if it was painted the same color as the rest of the car, even if it were black, it would still get paint.

I think the 4 inches is a bit much. Check out Anvil Auto http://www.anvilauto.com/ I've heard good things about their hoods.

At first when they came out I thought I would like it but after seeing it on a camaro, I don't. It doesn't look right to me. JMO

Different strokes for different folks. I would get one if i was planning to add a naws system and lights under the rockers.

Re: Carbon Fiber hood on 1st gen

I would only get something like that if I was building a crazy street machine and wanted an attention grabber. It would look pretty cool all black with street-legal tented windows.
maybe put some red badges on it with red calipers?
