Re: 69 Sheet Metal Stamping Locations
Found an earlier post by Garth by searching under Body Panel Stamp instead of sheet metal.
"Most, if not all factory panels have a date stamp as described above. I'll attempt to describe the locations;
hood- on the fender jamb, rear corner. The the faded red pic from CRG is a hood.
fenders- hood jamb towards front near the header panel. The gold pic is a fender.
doors- on the interior side center, near the door pulls.
quarter panels- corners of trunk jamb, near the hinges.
trunk lid- center, towards the bottom (with lid up). Below jacking instructions.
They can be difficult to see under multiple coats of paint or modern day base coat/clear coat finishes."
So, Are all body stamp codes supposed to match? I found an H34 on my trunk and an H35 on one of the rear quarters. Again, the car has been repainted and very hard to read.
