So I'm going to put my driver out there for ROTM. I know a lot of people hate the monikers "tribute" and "clone" and someday I plan on finding my own original car and re building it just the way it should be. But for a young guy with 2 little kids and an awesome wife (who I still can't believe actually encouraged me to get the car) this was the best I could do at this time. It's a solid car that was rebuilt awhile back. It started life out of Norwood and was originally a base 6 cylinder coupe black on black. When it was re done they decided to put in a 350, manual trans, and add the SS badging and hood. Instead of keeping it black they painted it Marina blue. As soon as I saw this car I fell in love and upon inspection there was almost no rust. It isn't a perfect resto, as some of the gaps aren't EXACTLY perfect after getting new metal but really nothing glaringly bad. I don't know how everyone else feels about nameing their cars, but with my wife it is a must and she has named her "Lucille".
Probably not everyone's cup of tea, but she is mine and will always be my first classic. Was my dream to own a first gen F body car since I was a child. Someday I wouldn't mind having a 67 or 68 firebird to rebuild to sit right next to her. I enjoyed a really nice unseasonably warm good weather fall season driving her around town, and now I am enjoying tinkering here and there with it in the winter time. Just put new OER Fischer belts in the rear so the kiddos can join us this summer as we go here and there to events and ice cream shops.
I am adding this from my phone so stick with me as I know it has to resize some of my pictures and seems as though it doesn't like to put pictures that need to be resized into the same posts for some reason. Likely I'll have to add the pictures separately. Hope you all enjoy! Maybe a blue one can win this time, I think I've seen one in each of the past couple months competition.
