This is more of a "rebuild" thread. Some of the previous work (engine, cage, chute receiver, etc.) is in the Performance section. I figured I'd start posting the rebuild here in case anyone is interested. Before, the car had a n/a 436 sbc with stock suspension, was driven fairly often, and went 9.69 with a 1.33 60 ft.
Here are two before pics...
I'm re-doing most of the car, from engine and driveline to rear end to exterior. The car has been in chassis jail for a while, and I'm not as motivated as I was earlier this year. Plus this project is running over budget. So this rebuild may, or may not get done soon. I'll post pics here as I get time between work and other priorities. As many of you know, I'm a meticulous freak, so this could take a while...
Here's the basic list of changes underway.
- replacing the n/a 436 sbc with a procharged sbc
- fuel system
- built transmission
- mini tub and many related items
- wheels and tires
- subtle graphics later
My objective is to keep the car relatively stock appearing, while being totally streetable with respectable ET's at the track. Next post will include some of the basic parts.
