Looking for Camaro owner opinions to rear suspension upgrades. I own a very original 67 RS/SS 4 spd with non original BBC. Sheet metal is all original. Car is street driven to local car get together's, a few shows and some evenings out around town. Owned it long enough to have to refurbish car again, 35 years. Plan to run 500 to 600 hp BBC with 3.55 to 4.10 gears, continue to street drive car, no road courses, quarter mile car for fun, like to take to a track once or twice a year. Car currently has 5 multi-leaf springs with slapper bars and shocks in original position
275 60-15 on rear. Springs, shocks and traction bars are shot, Additionally regardless I will relocate shocks to add on Bar, don't want shocks in the trunk sheet metal . I own a small machine shop so fabing parts and custom brackets are not an issue.
Option 1 Replace or refurbish multi leafs, add Caltracs or Slidealinks, relocate shocks.
Option 2 Buy a weld in 4 link kit, parallel or triangulated? Maybe an Art Morrison Kit?
Option 3 Buy a Prodigy G Bar Kit?
I understand that costs to play, current ride doesn't bother me terrible, I guess I'm used too it, does a nice hole shot LOL. However since I'm to that point of really replacing the rear suspension, ride is a consideration, and has too be strong enough for the occasional quarter mile run. No wheel hop allowed! Let me know your thoughts Thanks
