Re: sbc dart block

Don't need anything on them. Dart also says to just put the studs in finger tight so they don't bottom out and then let the nuts do the work from the top.

I don't use their 'moly', I just soak the washers and nuts in a small container with light oil (or Tri-Flow if I have enough).
The idea is to slightly lube the contact points of these so there is consistent friction response from the nut during torque procedures.

I actually feel moly (besides being messy) is too slippery to get a cosistent torque reading, at least in my experience ...

Yes, you need to use some sort of lube. I have used oil and moly. If you check with ARP they suggest their moly.

Re: sbc dart block

Oh one other thing, the ARP directions will give you 2 different torque specs, one for oil and one for moly. With the one for oil being higher to overcome the friction.

Is it in the white can, with a brush in the lid? Is is a dark grey color? If so, I am pretty sure it is there assembly/moly lube.

You are correct, it is "fastener" assembly lube. It's not moly. I assumed it was moly due to the color, but it isn't. I have used this ARP lube before, several times with no issues.
