I don't like the original bow headliner, I want to make a custom headliner board with a flame or bowtie upholstery design. What materials do I need to make the headliner board or does someone sale a custom headliner board?
its going to be difficult to install a board/felt type headliner up there because there is not much to mount it to because the bow type only attaches on the edges
but i believe a member here has done it, try the search function you should be able to find some info
Here's a link to Boodlefoof's page. He did a custom headliner for his 68 that turned out pretty good. I know there is a company that makes ABS plastic headliners for the 1st gens but can't find their info. Maybe someone else will chime in.
Speaking of headliner we make a custom headliner made from fiberglass that you can do anything with. Wheather it be to cover in cloth or custom paint any color or design that you can think of!! These headliners are for the 67-69 Camero's and the cost of the part is $470.00 shipped!! Here is a picture of one that we did for a 69 show car.
Go to www.topshopheadliners.com for a better picture and price. The headliner will slide through the passenger side door when the seat is down. All you have to do is take out the old and replace with the new. The headliner actually screws down so you don't have to fiddle with the rods on the old headliner. Simple and the only custom fiberglass headliner on the market right now!
I was poke'n around on the net a little while ago and came across these guys too. My headliner is good, but I might be looking into them to pretty up my trunk area ... and finally some good looking speaker pods for the kickpanels.
