Muncie speedo

I believe I have a M-20 in my 67' Still decoding, but I need the new plastic gears inside that control the speedo cable. Both are so worn the speedo is jumping. Can someone recommed a good site for parts, and the proper name for the part?

Thanks as usual. G

Re: Muncie speedo

Here's a start: I received a manual from Jody's Transmission
Circle gear for the shaft, pencil gear for the speedo.

Re: Muncie speedo

There is the Speedo drive gear that is on the shaft and then there is the speedometer driven gear which you can pull out and sits in the bullet/housing which is attached to the cable.

Here is a good resource: http://chevelleengineer.home.comcast...eer/speedo.htm

The speedometer driven gear comes in different sizes depending on rear end etc. You can get that from local Chevy dealer, I got one in a day.

Re: Muncie speedo

Make sure use the correct speedo driven gear with the correct OD corresponding speedo drive gear for longevity.
