Here's my 69 vert with an 8 point bar. I personally think it "fits" the car and looks great but I'm a little biased...LOL. Actually I get mostly positive comments on it when I bring the to cruise nights.
Hey thanks a lot for the pics!! It does actually look pretty cool with the bars.
PROZ11 your bars are sweet! Looks pretty custom. Where did you get yours? And in the pics of the camaro you sent me do you think the passengers in the rear hit their head on the bars?!
So far no problem with denting any passengers heads... LOL. The seat backs are pretty tall. I was going to pad the top of the bars, but top date no one has hit their head. I have a friend thats 6' 4" and if anyone was going to bang their head it would have been him. And believe me, I have planted him and a few other passengers in that seat without injury..LOL.
This is an old thread so I assume there are plenty of people with roll bars in a 1st Gen Convertible Camaro. I have a 67 convertible and looking for a roll bar to add some safety and to help tie the car together better. I'm on the street 99% of the time and once in a blue moon going to hit the drag strip. It seems like all of the roll bars I see online are for coups and not convertibles. Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice looking roll bar for a 67 convertible?

As I stated above, my roll bar is made for a coupe, the main hoop was just shortened slightly to fit under the top. Other than that it has not been modified.
I am not too fond of roll bars in ragtops. In my car I went with DSE sub-frame connectors. I had new floors and rockers installed, the floors are cut out and then welded around the connectors. I am sure if I tubbed the car and put slicks on it I would twist something. As of now the doors still close properly.
