My 68 Plain Jane gained RS stuff during the long slow rebuild
I have acquired the OE BELT TRIM. My local source says the ends of the horseshoe are different if the car came with BELT TRIM. FACT or FICTION?
You know my take on this one, I say same but the quarter molding is different than coupe to accommodate fitting over the rear pinchweld molding, at least that's how mine works out.
OK Roger, this is the convertible discussion area after all.
The Horseshoe is the stainless steel trim running around the back of the top.
Belt trim is on 1968 only, RS and cars ordered with appearance package; belt trim is stainless steel bright trim that fits on the top of the door below the glass, also below the quarter window. Not sure why they call it belt trim, but that is what it is called.
If you don't have the reveal moldings (belt trim), then the ends of the convertible well opening trim (horseshoe) are 'finished'. Otherwise they are cut square.
My belt reveal moldings snapped right on over the finished ends of the convertible pinchweld molding without cutting them square.
