Good guess you guys, but the practical side of Tom got the better of him. His garage is just too small for a full size pickup truck and he's wanted a boat for some time so he found the perfect solution, I hear he's looking forward to going fishing and taking the family water skiing with it as well!
Very good guesses, boys! You all must have heard me thinking(lusting) out loud about different vehicles. I dont want to hijack this thread but i am not going to disclose the type of vehicle. I'll only say it's a 1972 vintage, 99% rust free example and i am in negotiations with the owner who has had it since 1981. You'll all have to wait and see.
All that has to come back apart. I am just putting all the sheetmetal back on to get the body work done. Then I have to take it apart and finish restoring all the parts like the leaf springs and rear end, wheel wells in the front, radiator support etc. Long way to go, but it does feel better to see it partly back together. Hope to get some of the parts back on this weekend. If I can find the fasteners for the wheel wells in the front and the fenders.
Looking good Dan! Should be ready for your retirement years
I'll be there for a cup of joe. Threw in some viking double adjustable coil overs in the front along with some C6 brakes. Oh and the ridetech true turn. Saving the rear end up grade for next winter.
And Phil....that's a sweet looking 2nd gen:nerd:
Tom....the suspense to your new purchase is worth the admission to the thread:wink2:
Thanks Dan. Don has made the same offer, and I really appreciate it. Any chance either of you could move an hour closer to me?:grin2:
The problem, of course, is that the whole project would have had to take place at one of your houses. Once the rear suspension and axle came out, it wasn't all that driveable! See you on Sat?
I plan on being there Saturday. Hope the weather cooperates. Just remember the offer for future reference. The car can stay for some time if necessary. Always happy to help friends from here out.
I hope we get good weather. I am not taking my cars out in the rain if I can avoid it. I just cleaned the undercarriage on both of them. Ughh. My foundation for my new house is supposed to go in this Thursday too.
The forecast has not been stable, this is for sure. I guess we will know by Friday...maybe as late as Saturday morning; they way the forecasting has been.
We will officially give it a "go or no go" on Friday so everyone can plan accordingly.
I certainly hope you're not implying that the Cobra picture was photoshopped?!?
The only photo's of Tom I had were from your Christmas party. I generally don't like to post pictures of our group in an open forum for fear of invasion of privacy. Hopefully Tom doesn't see this.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
