Help identifying valve covers

I have a set of big block valve covers that I believe are form a '67 Ca. AIR equipped car.
They have two "indents" that I have never seen on any valve covers.
Please look at photos below and let me know what you can.
Thanks in advance,
George

Re: Help identifying valve covers

They are not from a 348 or 409 Chevy Big block. I can't guess what engine they are from.

Re: Help identifying valve covers

pre 68 Looks like the tabs were mig welded along with spot welded. The calif. smog covers I've had and seen don't have those notches. I wonder if those notches are for an a/c bracket on chevelle's

Wink Re: Help identifying valve covers

Look like late 60's Corvette Calif/High Altitude RPO-K19 A.I.R equiped 427 covers.
Thought 67's were painted and 68~? were chrome - but that's a "JohnZ" type question ...

The diverter mounts in that bracket.

Re: Help identifying valve covers

They must be Chevelle covers; they have the curved bracket for the '67-only K-19 mixture control valve, but Corvette covers were all painted (except for 16 L-89's, but none of those had K-19). Have never seen those square indentations on Corvette covers.

Re: Help identifying valve covers

The only other application I can think of may be a 1967/68 Impala.
I did a engine rebuild on a 1968 Impala SS-427 'California Car' quite a few years back and it had some 'odd' covers on it that I send out to re-chrome - passenger's side had that K19 diverter valve mount on them ...
It also had a couple small 'dinks' to clear the AC Compressor bracketing system, but I really don't recall exactly how many or where they were located - just remember thinking 'oh, that's why those are there' as I put it all back together. (I didn't take it apart - PO had ...)

I took pictures of the block, long-block and a few other things while doing the work back then - but a quick look through some of my slides ( it was that long ago ) didn't show any photos of the finished passenger side that showed covers detail.

To bad there's no identifier decal on one of the ends ...
I can't remember any Chevelle applications like that.
And that Impala would have to be my best re-collection - and I'm old
Sooooo ... if JohnZ can't identify them then I'm afraid you quest for their OEM application must continue

Re: Help identifying valve covers

My guess is Impala. I am looking through all of my Chevelle engine pics, but have not found anything yet.
