12 bolt rear end

I am looking to upgrade my 1969 camaro rear end. It has a 10 bolt rear end now. There is a rear end for sale, see below.

This is an original 1969 GM Chevrolet Camaro SS 12 Bolt Posi Rear End. It is correct for 69 Camaro SS & Z/28, also 69 Nova SS. It has the following codes : 3894860 NF , H288 , BV 0903G2 E . I believe the codes mean : 12 Bolt Chevrolet Rear , Date Cast - August 28 1968 , 4.10 gears with Eaton posi - built September 3rd 2nd shift.
This rear end is straight, clean and includes the original caps and TR bolts. It is in Very Good Shape. It is not broken/cracked/damaged/etc. No stripped threads. Ready for you to rebuild/restore to your needs/specs. It looks like its the housing only. What would be a fair price for this rear end.

Thanks for the advice

Re: 12 bolt rear end

just the housing?
300.00
who cares what numbers are on it, its not going back into that car, so the guy selling it will want more coin for it..
what does he want for it?
and its worth money to the guy who needs that rear for his car!

JMHO, If it is a legit BV housing and dated right, I dont think 1000.00 is out of line for it.

Re: 12 bolt rear end

A legitimate BV rear end goes for way more than $1000. I have seen them in the $1500-$2500 Range. That is a popular z/28 rear axle.

I would ask and see how complete it is. That would determine the price.

Re: 12 bolt rear end

Brian, alot of people want to upgrade their rear ends but do you need a 12 bolt? the later nova 8.5" rear will take alot of abuse for alot less money! these will easily take 500+ H/P and can be upgraded with bigger axles to take even more. what are you building? driver with added H/P? or all out drag car? I'm currentlu building a 69 with LS6/6 speed and it should put 425 to the ground and I'm using a basically stock 8.5 - just a thought

69 R/S Z/28 302 X33 D80 late 09C
69 T/A clonification LS6-6speed under construction
69 Nova SS retirement project
99 Firehawk
64 Chevelle wagon 6.0l planned sons toy
