Interesting...looks like it might be. Would like to see the undercarriage. I doubt it'll reach 50K as the column shifted PG kinda holds it back. Could be wrong though, will be interesting to see where it ends up...
They dropped the SS350 on the grille and gas cap when the 396s were introduced mid-year, so this must not be an early car. See the footnotes here: CRG Visual ID 1967 Model HyperTable
I can't swear to it, but seem to recall the painting steps were a little different between LOS and NOR, so maybe the case here? I think it's mentioned somewhere in John Z's article on the assembly process. CRG Research Report - Camaro Assembly Process
This one will be interesting to watch - it will be a good yardstick to gauge interest in original, unrestored cars in today's market of restomods and pro-touring cars.
I think if the right couple of buyers see it and start bidding against each other it should reach $50K. Original survivor RS/SS verts aren't exactly common, and it has some great options like AC, PW and top, deluxe interior. I agree that it would have been nice for it to be at least a floor shift console car - my preference is 4 speed with console and gauges, but if you want a survivor, had to be picky.
Wouldn't be shocked for it to sell outside of eBay. Sellers often list cars like this on eBay for the exposure, and then work out deals after the auction ends.
Pinstripe on driver side touches the nose stripe and not on passenger side.
What is that bracket on driver side motor just above the motor mount? It looks like a cable going to control arm? Never seen that before.
The bracket with cable is an engine stop lift kit - the GM fix for recalls when motor mounts began failing. You see them for sale on eBay often. Later they went to the interlocking type mount.
