Looking at a local car that claims to be a RS/SS 396 4 speed car. Seller notes that the engine isn't number matching, says it is a 1968 block however. They say that it has the Number matching 12 bolt and Tranny. States it has the factory BB heater box and other items that I think tend to certainly lean it towards it being what he says to me. Welded plate on frame for exhaust - dual fuel lines and large fuel line, correct position big block mounts
I have some pictures of Cowl tag and the car, but as it isn't mine yet I am not sure what the etiquette of posting them would be.
I guess my question is how big of a hit is the engine not matching? Car looks straight but seems to be running aftermarket AC unit and a bunch of non OEM engine bay dress up stuff. Will it always be a questionable RS/SS unless I find some hiding paperwork in the car somewhere?
Thank you
