I've heard out there that the sb rods will work inplace of the bb rods on my 69 4sp. -- just have to tweek them - is this true?? Why buy them If I really doen't need to.

If you have the correct, much less original, small block rods, why ruin them to "make" them work for your big block? The repops made by Heartbeat City are supposed to be very good and cost the same for either. You could sell the small block ones (I'd buy them) and offset or maybe even cover the cost of right rods. No more hassle or tweaking and maybe a set of oem rods survives to live on for a few more decades.

thanks - but I think the bb ones from Heartbeat were much more $ then the sb ones - I'm I wrong??

The BB shifter is offset front to back and side to side compared to the SB shifter mount so the rods are formed different. You can probably bend them to fit but you may lose some of the adjustment travel of the threaded rod ends.
