If you want to appear correct but arent showing in nationals or concourse judging then go ahead and PC. Both ways have some good and bad qualities but PC has some uses for sure. Tinkerr Feb 3rd, 07, 10:06 PM There are a number of professional resto shops that are having the entire front frame and suspension components powdercoated, they are also having the inner fenders and core support done. It looks good when done and is quite durable the only negative I've found is it's not very forgiving if you nick or scratch it, it's is difficult to blend the touched up area. Additionally, with powdercoating you can dictate the gloss, 35% gloss on the frame, 55% on some other parts and high gloss on the heater box. Paint on the other hand can be touched up easier and its definately cheaper if you can paint it yourself. I've spent approx. $1500.00 in powdercoating and I'm not finished. |
