Got a CPP Rear Disc Conversion It's on a 12 Bolt ,just got it in the car and the Drivers side shock hits the caliper .I can rotate it up but might whack the sub frame. Both calipers are mounted Behind the axle. The Drivers side at 11:00 and the Passenger side at 2:00 O-clock Looking from behind the car
any Ideas? The Instructions were'nt very good had to guess your way through them do the Calipers need to be Staggered? or in another position?
Any help would be Great

Not familiar with that particular kit, but those calipers do need to be mounted staggered to clear the shock, and after you do that, you will have trouble with the ebrake brackets, as well as the bleeder being upside down.

:hurray: Yea I tought I 'd have to stagger them. Not to worried about the bleeder,
Bought a Mitey -Vac If you don't have one BUY ONE!!! They Have 2 Advantages 1) Only takes One person to Bleed the brakes. 2) You don't Piss Off your wife by yelling at her cause she took her foot off the pedal befor you got the bleeder closed LOL. The E brake cable looks like it's just long enough to work. Also with the Mitey vac you save the fluid and it doesent go all over your paint.
Thanks David

I used a Mitey-Vac on mine and it was handy, but you still have to have the bleeder valve on the top. Stagger your brakes and then see of you can't mount the calipers on each side with the valves up. I imagine that CPP designed the system with that in mind.

They should have sold you 2 calipers from the same side... RH I believe is what you want and both the bleeders will be up...

Yup two right hand calipers. Mounted staggered as in drivers side will be in front of the wheel and passenger side will be behind the wheel.

I am in the middle of my conversion with the CPP kit. They told me that I needed to remove the calipers from the brackets and hold them on the rotor while bleeding the lines. As designed the bleeders point down slightly when mounted.

On another note the e-brake cables they sold me are 8-inches longer than needed (I supose for the above proceedure) and I am having trouble deciding where to run the extra cable.

Good Luck. I have a 67 and my calipers mount as you say (behind the wheel and above centerline).

Those bleeding instructions are correct! We tried and tried to do it on the car but could get that last little bubble out. Went through 2 gallons of brake fluid! Still had a spongy pedal. The bleeder is NOT on the highest point of the caliper casting. There is a little cavity above it. You have to turn the caliper sidewayw to get it. Once we figured that out, we used a piece of 2x4 to act as the rotor and we were done in minutes.
Adjusting the E brake is critical to proper operation too. It's pretty easy once you figure it out.
