Hi guys, I am in the process of restoring a 1969 Camaro SS, I am looking for the best quality stencil kit (hockey stripe), I ordered one from Eck#%$ 's ,paid extra for 3 day shipping , this was over 10 days ago, if it ever shows up I am getting a refund, anyway who is the most correct, I know the front fender is paint and the door is tape, but I am going to paint everything for longevity, I hear Stencils and Stripes makes most anyway and they are certified by GM.............any ideas?? Thanks in advance

I just had this stripe painted on my car. I bought the stencils & stripes stencil kit and had mine painted on. I know alot of people say they are the best but my painter hated it. And that's putting it mildly.

He said the stripes were cut thick and thin on the stencil. What I mean is they weren't the same width all the way down the stencil, almost like the machine cut them inconsistently.

It also says on the box not to use water with this kit when applying it. He didn't like that either. He claimed it is nearly impossible to apply without using water so you can reposition it if it's off a little. They sell some jell you can use instead of water. I have seen it on their website but haven't used it.

He said the best thing he could have done with this kit was lay it all out and then re-tape it himself using 3M fineline tape. This was the second kit from them he had used the other was for a Mustang and he said it was the same.

Don't know for myself, just what he said.

I got mine from Rick's. But it was the Stencils & Stripe's kit.

Make sure you cutout the area around the engine emblem. I see alot of them left solid there on cars with a V8.

We are finishing up with my brothers SS and our painter also said that it took longer to lay out the stencil as opposed to just following the dimensions out of the Assembly Manual with tape.

We are just now laying out the stencil for our 69 hockey sticks & they are time consuming. We got ours from Phoenix Graphics. I have been searching your site all day to find the correct placement.
