What is the best type or brand of anti freeze to use with an aluminum radiator.

You can use pretty much any type you want. The type of water used and the service of the system is more important to keeping it in good condition.
Most manufactures recommend a type with a Silicates PPM of @225 or higher.
The use of Zinc's to prevent Electrolysis damage is usually also recommended and they come in most newer cars with aluminum components. Here is a link to the Zinc's offered by Flex-a-Lite - http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html/anode.html
The use of distilled v.s. 'tap' water to avoid high concentrations of Clorines that can damage aluminum through corrosion is also highly recommended. You can by 2.5 gal. containers of Distilled water at most grocery stores and most discount stores - it's not expensive at all. You wife might have it around for her iron ...

Her is a link to Ron Davis' site FAQ page with his recommendations - http://www.rondavisradiators.com/tech.htm

Hope this helps;

I am installing a zz502 with a 700r4 and will be using it as a driver. I was told by be cool that I will need a dual electric fan for their alum radiator and the price is around 1200.00 for there complete kit. Does this sound right? I want to be able to drive in town with no overheat problems.

ron davis is the way to go. you could save money without buying the 'be cool' brand, and i've heard of some quality issues with them as well. the ron davis setup cost me $1k, but that comes with an trans cooler, shroud, and dual spal fans that move a ton of air. the installation was a snap and the quality is unbeatable. just my opinion...

Schoon, you might want to check out Ebay as I bought my aluminum radiator and dual fan setup as a complete unit for around $550.It is a Northern Big block radiator with the fans offset in the aluminum shroud to clear a March pulley setup with a long pump on my 427. It fits real nice and has the rubber flaps in the shroud to allow airflow. Believe me when I say I did alot of research and decided on this setup for the best bang for the buck.
