Guys,

I have a 69 SS 350 I am in the process of putting back together. I am running stock exhaust manifilds. The clutch return spring and extension goes right through were the exhaust pipe is going to come out of manifold. did the 69 use that extension rod if so what is the coorect mounting area for it, or did the spring hook up to the manifold flange without the rod?

The return spring on small blocks fastens to the driver side engine mount frame portion of the mount, there's a small hole in it.

If I do that it would go right through the exhaust.

Mine is very close but just misses. Should clear if all is stock. Assembly manual shows pictures. There is also a rod that hooks to the clutch fork end. This is formed to clear the exhaust.

Got it. Rod kinda angles in toward center of car. Hole on the lower motor mount tower ain't that easy to see with the car on the ground. Thanks for the help....
