I have a 94 Z28 and a while back I had to bring it to a shop to have the EGR tube...valve...whatever it is replaced...so they replaced it but I noticed this wierd bubbling sound after it started...but 2-5 minutes of running it would go away so I didnt care...But then about 4 months later...that little hardly noticable bubbling sound has turned into a loud as hell header leak...get under the hood and see that the very rear bolt head is sheered off and the exhaust is just PISSING out the back of the header...its the driver's side header and the noise is driving me into and early grave...anybody got some ideas on what I can do besides pulling the engine and having to drill the damn thing out...thanks in advance...

I have never owned a 4th gen. Can you get any type of extraction kit or something to get that bolt out of there. Can you get your hand in there? Anything?? I know clearance was an issue back there on my 1984 Z and I know it would be worse with a 1994. Pulling the engine would $*ck!! Especially on a 4th gen!!

I wonder how they pulled that off by swapping out the EGR Valve. I would imagine your EGR valve would be no differnt then the one on my 95 I had. Two bolts on the back of the intake and its off. I fell your pain though and what your about to deal with because there is little to no room to work on something on the driver side on these cars. Your going to have to take the exhaust manafold off and hope you can get a grip on the broken bolt and still twist it out. If you have any luck on your side this will work and you wont have to drill and tap out the head. If no luck to be found then you'll have to pull the intake off as well as that head to do so I imagine. PITA I know but its still not pulling the whole engine. And hey while you have the engine all apart whey not put some new AFR heads, LT4 Intake, and some headers on while your at it. :)

Good luck man.

pulling the manifolds off an LT1 is actually pretty easy

people always wanna make things harder, pulling the engine only requires pulling the intake

How easy are they to pull off because if its not a horror story Ill do it myself. Anybody done it or have pix or anything that could possibly make my life a little bit easier cuz I dont want to make things worse then they already are ya kno?
