View Full Version : Anyone else doing their taxes ??
Lost in the 60's Feb 13th, 07, 03:32 PM As a self employed owner/operator, I get to compile all my business expenses every year around this time. I didn't spend very much on parts this year, so I had a little more profit than the last few years, but the fuel cost is really hard to swallow, given the oil companies are posting record profits. $32,464 in fuel alone for 11 months..
That's 1/3 of my entire gross for the year and more than my profit margin....
Here's 2 fingers waaaaaaaaay up for the oil companies....
mdprovee Feb 13th, 07, 04:01 PM Its funny oil is ony at $59 a barrel, yet gas is still over $2.50 a gallon here. The price of crude came down, but gas didnt. We will see over $3.00 this summer.

Blame your State government for those prices, not the oil companies. Our gas here has been around 2.00 for about the last 4 months or so. Surely we will see 3.00 per in the near future, but yours will be nearly 4.00 by that time.
wagonman Feb 13th, 07, 05:03 PM yes,

eville Feb 13th, 07, 05:08 PM $3 by summer? It's 2.87 across from my office. That's up from 2.81 yesterday. BTW that's for the "cheap" stuff. 3.07 for the 91 octane.

At 8 lbs ger gallon of FLAMMABLE liquid, shipping would be more than your meager 4 cent markup...:noway: Our gas is around $2.10/gallon, but the diesel fuel stays at $2.45 or above. At 5.5 mpg I can burn thru 70 gallons a day... When the price was over $3.00/gallon, I was spending over $200/day....
jr68 Feb 13th, 07, 07:34 PM No wonder you truckers have a chain on your wallet.
btw I'm not selling gas on ebay to make money but to help out the California guys. Poor devils have to cruise 12 months a year.
buenymayor Feb 14th, 07, 02:39 AM I do my own taxes. What a pain. I need to finish getting all the paperwork in order so I can do mine. There's still a 2" pile of farm receipts that I've got to go through. At least there is light at the end of the tunnel!:hurray:
tronic72 Feb 14th, 07, 04:00 AM In Australia we have to do a BAS (Business Activity Statment) every month. It's my second favorite thing, right after the old rectal labotomy :)
