So I am getting ready to start teh teardown of my '69 and it will be the first time I do something like this.

What books do you guys recomend most? I need something nice and simple, thats step by step and lots of pics.

The car is in pretty good shape it doesnt have a motor right now so I'm faced with a question. Do I through a motor in it make it a driving project or do I take advantage of not having a motor and take it down as far as I can? I cant do a lot of the work (sheet metal, paint, etc.) but I can disassemble and reassemble for the most part. I dont want to do a factory restoration because its only an X-44 and I dont think I will gain anything from it so I figure I will build it to suit me. Much like most others, this will be on a tight budget and most likely last quite a while.

Any thoughts on my plans are also welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Are you looking for more of a how-to or pictures and info?
I would suggest to start with...

Camaro Restoration Guide (http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/0760301603/ref=s9_asin_image_3/103-5043285-6795833)
http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/P/0760301603.01._BO2,204,203,200_PIsitb-dp-500-arrow,TopRight,45,-64_OU01_AA240_SH20_SCLZZZZZZZ_.jpg (http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0760301603/ref=sib_dp_pt/103-5043285-6795833#reader-link)
A great book with lots of good info and a combination of real pictures and excerpts from GM assembly manual.

This has some good how-to. . . . . . . I like this one for info and pictures.

Camaro-Owners-Handbook (http://Camaro-Owners-Handbook) . . . . . . . . Big Book of Camaro Data (http://Big Book of Camaro Data5-6795833)

if you buy any of these books, amazon.com should be the place to go. They have great prices.

Sure would ! Also, go to your local Walmart...they have many Camaro books. You can search the stuff they have online too.
