HELP . I have a 97 Camero 3800, that has a coolant leak. I replaced the waterpump because I thought the leak was there but it was not. I replaced the hoses when I did the pump. Are there plugs in the front that I can check? I do not see any, but the leak is a stedy drip when I turn off the car. The drip is near the right front right I think below the top of the lower radiator hose
Any help PLEASE

I do not think it is, because no water in the oil. I have same compression in each cylinder. Could it be a head agsket, and not have iol in?
The leak seems to happen most when I turn the car off.
Still stumped

Possible intake gasket leak. It's hard to see, but look in the corners of the intake, especially at the rear. A white stain might be all you can see. A mirror might help.

A cooling system pressure tester would be a good thing to use.

Did GM use this 3800 in a number of their cars? Our 99 Olds 3800 had an intake go bad. The intake is actually made of a plastic/carbon fiber and it warped, (imagine that). After I researched it, it was a real common problem on the 3800's in the Oldsmobiles. Not sure if it's the same or not, but thought I would throw it out.

One more thing... dwnrvr19.... CAMARO doesn't have an E in it....

Good luck...

yeah, it's probably the intake gasket.
but it is indeed possible for head gaskets to go out and only leak water on the outside of the engine. it happens from time to time on fwd cars with the 2.8 or 3.1 in them.

Not trying to cause a stir here but I have a 98 K1500 Suburban, 97 Blazer...........have had problems everywhere with both with cooling system and associated hardware, kept having problems until I got rid of the factory Dex-Cool anti-freeze...........research for yourself and form your own opinion...........if you decide to swap over to the old green-style antifreeze you MUST get rid of all of the Dex-Cool by taking thermostat out, heater on and flush at least 1 hour to thoroughly flush system.........Dex-Cool and Green Anti-freeze are like Pos./Neg. of a battery .they don't like each other.............don't know if this related to your problem........just telling you from my personal experiance what I have delt with , please form your own opinion.here's a search link for you...............

Yes, they did, and I've heard this before. The intake itself could be bad.
