I am sitting here in Virginia with the power out. I am hooked up to my Silverado Hybrid. About 4 am was about when the power went out. I hoping that the power comes back on today. Not tomarrow, not Friday.

That sucks...you must have an A/C converter from the truck to the house ? Are you able to keep the furnace running ?? I feel sorry for the people that keep getting freezing rain and ice this year....been a lot of it through out the south, midwest and east coast this season. I have a generator because the first year I was in this house, we lost power 5 TIMES in 3 months. Hope you get your power back soon.....:thumbsup:

My generator is the best $750 I ever spent. We don't use it that often, but I never have to worry about keeping my girls warm when we lose power. Mike. :beers: :beers:

I got tired of going through all that grief every time our Mickey-Mouse electric utility (Detroit Edison) crapped out, and installed a fully-automatic natural gas-powered 18-KW Generac standby generator system. When the power craps out, ten seconds later we have power again, and all we have to do is reset the digital clocks. We'll NEVER be without power again, whether we're home or not. :)

back last year I bought a Chevy Silverrado Hybird. It is where there is no alternator. The alternator is called genteraor on the truck. The generator is in between the engine and transmission. I have 4 electrical outlets that I can plug into. How much electrical output is enough to power my internet modem, and computer and 2 TVs. Wednesday night would not been good, if I did not buy that truck last year. I would have gone and got me hotel room and stayed over night. In the back woods on my property, I have some trees down, may be Monday or Tuesday going to start pulling them out that fell over. Once the ice got on the top of some of the trees, it stapped them. I saw one tree on the main road, good size on a powerline....did call it in.
