Just wanted to vent, my air compressor pump blew up. It was an IR 7 1/2 HP, two stage compressor. I don't mind spending good money for good quality products but it was six months out of warranty. The oil was up and the low oil switch didn't need to kick in. It seems that a rod just went. IR said "sorry", It didn't have over 10 hours on it. It looks like the crank is toast so I'll have to start pricing new pumps. I will think twice befor buying IR products again. If anyone has any sujestions I'm open to them.

Check HFT for cheap air pumps less motors!!

Heck, I figure that they are cheap enough, you can throw it away after it blow's up and still be ahead of the I/R jobber's part replacement costs..

Try to find a cast iron pump and not a cast iron "sleeved" pump. If I remember right the IR's are sleeved (the newer ones).
