A good friend in the law enforcement field turned me onto this site a while back.
After trying it out a few times myself I'm ready to recommend it to others - okay, okay, I was holding out until I checked it for all the good stuff I might want :o
The site is for all the evidence and stolen goods they collect during their work that ends up in the "Property Room" and they can't find an owner.
They used to auction this stuff off a couple times a year and only 'those in the know' would hear about the auctions ...
They tried using the existing online sites at first, but the problems dealing with some of them (hmmm, can we fiqure out who that might be ...) lead one of the guys to help form this site for law inforcement.
It is run independently, but the majority of the proceeds go directly back to the individual agences particpating in the auctions and towards new and better equipment for their work :thumbsup:
Here is a link to the site - http://www.propertyroom.com/
Here are a couple recent auctions for examples;
Where can you find a set of 4 245/40R18 tires for under @$200 - http://www.propertyroom.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=79909850&prmenbr=31895249&aunbr=80256560
Or a :cool: Moped for under @$20 - http://www.propertyroom.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=79876462&prmenbr=31895249&aunbr=80223172
And you don't have to go far to imagine what this perp was busted for :D - http://www.propertyroom.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=79944592&prmenbr=31895249&aunbr=80291302
I guess the law enforcement guys like 'Angelglo' and 'Sup26' were gonna try to keep this site to themselves ... :D
Hope you enjoy;
John
