just a small thing, really, but I have always used autohide on my computers, just lately, though, I cannot get the taskbar to disappear. Anybody ever dealt with this? If I go into taskbar properties and deselect autohide, click apply, then recheck the autohide box and apply, the taskbar pops down, but as soon as I bring the taskbar back into view to use it, it gets stuck there. thanks

Uncheck the box "Keep the taskbar on top of other windows" option. Let me know if that fixes it. Are you using Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, or XP?

Thanks for responding. Ok that didn't do the trick. I am using XP.

Right click on the task bar and select Lock The Task bar Select Properties and un check Auto hide The Task bar

That was my next suggestion. Or rather, uncheck and recheck the auto-hide, then select the Lock the Taskbar option.

Hmmmm... just tried that, to no avail. Strange that it has worked fine for over 2 years, and now mysteriously will not hide.
