Trying to find out if a console from a 67 will fit in a 68 and look okay? I have not been able to find anything on this. I noticed in the parts books that they are listed separately, but I am not worried about originality.

It should fit and look fine, if your not into originality go for it.

When I bought my 68, it had a 67 console in it. I didn't realize it till I started looking for console gauge pods and noticed that there was a difference. They are definately different looking between the 67 and the 68-69. The 68-9 console had the slot to hold your seatbelt buckles. Now, that I know the difference, I actually see the 67 console in a few 68's. I've probably got pics of both, if you like, I can dig them up.

What trans, shifter? 4 speed will work, auto the shifters are different for 67 and 68-69.
You could post it in the classifieds as a trade for the 68 console you need.

I have a muncie 4 speed and based on the pictures it looks like it is for a manual transmission. I just wanted to make sure that it will fit but if not, like you say I may be able to do a swap for a 68 console...thanks.

I have a reverse of the situation in this thread.
I am installing a 68 Horseshoe shifter and console into my 67 as I am converting from a PG on the tree to TH350 on the floor. Can you tell me which wires will not match up on the harness so I can splice those in.

I have conversion diagrams on my web page. 20 some years ago, I wired a 68 to use the 67 tach and gauges. But I don’t remember the details. You have to swap some pins around in the connectors.

I have a 68 with a 67 console , 4 sp with a comp plus shifter it all fits great . I like the look of the round gauges better . I can try to dig up a photo if you want to see it .
