Pondering converting to a deluxe interior but need back seats. Are vert seats the same as deluxe?

Don, you get need deluxe seat covers for a coupe. No need to change seats.

But I thought the Deluxe interiors had arm rests for the back seats and require a small seat, no just verts?
Thanks

Deluxe interiors did not regulate the back seat. If the car had fold down seats, it had the armrest, if it had regular coupe seats, no armrests. Deluxe interior just put a different cover on whatever type of seat the car had. Dont worry about the rear seat, I would worry about the doors. You have to change the window mech and door panels plus the gizmos.

Kevin i don't see any armrests in Lawrence's fold down rear seat? Does anyone else have a original rear fold down seat? I purchased a fold down and it doesn't have a armrest, but alot of the things i bought long ago are broke or wrong.

I just checked my classic catalog and it states "coupe models: All camaros (67-69) with deluxe interiors and/or fold down rear seats include rear side arm rest panels. The standard seat is 3" wider and does not allow room for rear arm rest panels. Note some 1968 deluxe coupe models came equippped with a wide rear seat".

"convertible models: all 1967-1969 camaro convertibles were equipped with rear side arm rest panels"

My 67 came with arm rests.Per GMrestoration/illustrated facts book 67's with Z87 option (custom interior) would come with "rear armrests with ashtray on sport coupe model"

Hope this helps.

...as per the note, ...some 1968's (mine is one) did have the longer rear seat (ie. no armrests), ...deluxe interior.
...and as someone else mentioned, ...the window crank shafts are a tad longer for deluxe...

So... Convertible seats ARE NOT the same as coupe seats. Comparing standard to standard and Deluxe to Deluxe seats. Fold down seats, are the same as convertible seats. Are these statements, correct ?

I can vouch for vert seats being narrower. Al verts have the rear armrest and ashtray, they hide the lifts for the top and some extra bracing behiund them.

no comment on coupes and fold downs.

I think I recall some discussion on this in the vert forum, might be a couple years ago, if someone wants to go searching.

Coupe Narrow (with arm rest panels), Convert and fold down are the same width. You can get deluxe seat Upholstery for Narrow or Standard width rear seats. FYI: alot of firebirds came with narrow back seats and arm rest panels

That's incorrect. '69 coupes with deluxe interiors and fixed (non-folding) rear seats did NOT have armrest panels; the quarter trim panels on those cars were flat, with a horizontal bright molding. Coupes only got armrest panels when they had fold-down seat backs.

Now I'm confused - I have a 67 and want to convert to deluxe interior and was informed I need the narrower back seat and side panels. It would be great to install the 67 deluxe rear seat cover on my original standard back seat but I don't think you can buy them. I have 3 back seats- standard, deluxe with side panels, and a perfect narrow seat out of a 67 firebird I can put the camaro deluxe seat cover on. Can you purchase the deluxe rear seat cover for a standard 67 rear seat? Thanks

"Please specify color, coupe or convertible, and if equipped with optional fold down rear seat. " Quote from Rick's site.
Both Year one and Rick's list rear deluxe seat covers for standard or narrow seat and asks you to specify which one you have. My vert is narrow but it sounds like in a coupe you could get a wide deluxe seat if you did not order the folding rear seat.

***admin edit*** there are 3 back seat covers for deluxe conv. , fold down & standard size. If you want to use or have arm rest you order the fold down. It is a smaller seat frame but can be used in a non fold down car with arm rest we sell the arm rest to. Hope this helps there is alot of ?'s about this. ***admin edit***
