I've read so many posts about sound deadeners that my head is spinning. One question I have is: Will the butyl type deadeners (ie. Dynamat, Fatmat) stick to the ceiling well enough to stay put for a long time (30+ yrs.)? Or should I just use the paint on type for the area above the headliner?

I have used Fatmat on mine and I cannot see that it would ever come off the ceiling. It is very sticky and heat will only make it more so.
