are thereany thing special about the seat rail "extenders"that are sold on ebay or can a guy just make a set with flat steel?My seat needs to go back a couple of inches more.

There is nothing special that I can see....just very heavy gage steel. (probably 1/4" or so) YOu can make your own if you are so inclined.
