: Chemical stripping in Michigan
NickSimcheck Jun 6th, 02, 05:29 PM Does anybody have any infomation on a place that will Chemical strip my '67 Camaro body down to bare metal. The closet one I found was in South Carolina. So anywhere closer counts!
Thanks guys,
Nick
Toby Keen Jun 6th, 02, 11:09 PM There is a place in Romulus. Maybe a search in this section would tell you their name.
If you have followed The Mule build up in the magazine, the name, address and phone number is listed in the beginning of the body restoration.
Sorry I can't give you any more details. My wife has decided to re-arrange my office and I can't find anything right now.
Geezer Jun 7th, 02, 03:47 AM You could do a search for Redi Strip locations, there use to be one in this area in the 80’s but they closed down. It’s a shame, they did great work! I was their 3rd customer. Here is a few examples I found. http://www.redistrip.com/auto_mc_truck_tractor.html http://www.redistripindy.com/page/auto.html http://www.redi-strip.com/page2.htm http://www.graffitipromotions.com/Barracuda/redi-strip_pics/baremetal_side.htm http://www.geocities.com/rrsweeney/rt/redistrip/

Scoop69RS-SS Jun 7th, 02, 04:33 AM Kyle Tucker uses chemical stripping. You could ask them who they use. Go to the Detroit Speed web site for the number. detroitspeed.com

KevinW Jun 7th, 02, 06:27 AM Nick, I would think this is "close" to you. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

They strip and dip Ecoat whole bodies. It's 27 miles away from you, about 1 hour driving time.
That should do it. Kevin

NickSimcheck Jun 7th, 02, 06:31 AM Funnest thing, I'm suppose to be in Bellville right now. I think I'll go with them cause I know exactly where they are and they E-coat.
asumtoy540 Jun 7th, 02, 06:53 AM Most of the E-Coat shops in town that offer chem strip use Industrial Paint Striping anyway. You can save some money cutting out the middle man.

NickSimcheck Jun 7th, 02, 07:55 AM outch, 1800. It was only 1000 to ship it to SC but that was without E-coating. I doubt I really need e-coating anyway. I might just do what asumtoy said and cut out the middle man... Unless I can find a place that'll do it for (or less then) $800. Any suggestions?
