i'm planing on buying new light & main engine harnesses and i'd like to use a points conversion kit as well.
my car is a '69 small block with warning lights.
as far as i know i can only find harnesses with a resistor wire built in. i assume this wire will have to come out, with the points conv.
i also have a new style alternator.
i kinda feel bad about buying a brand new harness just to cut up like my old ones. my car isn't a 100 point restoration, but i do want to keep things as clean and simple as possible.
should i cut a new harness or start looking for a custom one?

Whose harness are you getting? Even the nice OE style Factory-Fit harnesses from American Autowire can be had with a regular wire in place of the resistance wire, and set up for an internally regulated alternator. They modify it at the time of assembly, so it is all wrapped and looks OE. Just call AAW and talk to Theresa, and they can hook you up.
