Anyone know where to get steering gear parts like the bearings and bushings? I've seen some in Ricks but I'd like to see if the parts match first and they don't have the lid bushing either.

I'm going to try prosteering because they are about 2 miles from where I work and I can just drop it off. They normally don't sell parts but said they would for "clubs", and they're cheap enough so I think I'll just let them rebuild it. I will let people know how they do. 68zproject Mar 13th, 07, 05:28 PM I said I would report back. I took my steering gear to Pro Steering Portland OR. It of course was very close to me but they did a fantastic job and quick. I took it in on Wed. afternoon and Thurs it was done. I had to get new everything inside. $300. I was quoted $350.00 at another place and that was only bearings and seals. Macneish also does them (manual) and if I would have known before, I would've probably had him do it just to be sure. But I am very happy with Pro Steering's work and service. Thanks again Vintage. |
