What holds the front corner vinyl top chrome on a 69? I have a hole on each side that's to big for the replacement pins. It's been so long since I took this car apart I can't remember what held the corners. graemlins/clonk.gif

Thanks.

The same clips that hold the rest of the chrome are used on the front leading edge. During my new vinyl installation, the posts that were in place were still solid and attacked to those little plastic clips with the slot that holds it in place.
There are mini stud screws Ive seen in catalogs but I dont know how big they are.
You can see the tiny screws in some of my clips that I just reused again in spots where they found. The welded in studs were in place on my front edge so I just reinstalled the plastic clips. Hope this helps.

it's a clip that fits iinto the back of the molding with a stud on it. it fits into the hole and is attached by using a speed nut.

Thanks for the replys. Guess I'll have to find some screws to hold the plastic clips on there as there is no access from the backside to put a nut on a T type of stud.

If this is the piece Kurt is talking about, its only used on the back corner below the rear window where there is a hole in the body, accessible from the trunk to put the nut on. One of these on each side and they need a rubber washer to seal out water from getting into the trunk.
This is the only location for this piece. All the others are studs or screws and those plastic clips.
Sorry for the fuzzy pic.

That's what I thought went there, but with no access from the backside I didn't know what else would work. I'll just use some small screws with that plastic clips. Thanks for your help.
