I'm a little confused as to the sequence of undercoating and reassembly of the subframe.By the way, the front frame was removed, sanded, primed and repainted along with the firewall. At what point do I have the undercoating sprayed? Should I have the hard fuel and brake lines on and spray over those? How about protecting the leaf springs from spray? Should the undercoat go on before I reattach the front end? Any help would be appreciated.

69, the only undercoating on my car (67) was on the inner fenders, the wheel wells in the back and some in the transmission tunnel up above the tranny from the firewall back a foot or so. Please don't take this as gospel, but I would not undercoat any other components. I think it would just make a big mess. Especially after all the work to clean, prime and paint that you have done. Just my opinion, I hope someone will jump in if I'm off base.

Is there anything I should apply after the bottom is pressure washed and cleaned? Say something like a thin undercoat or surface metal covering. I've heard POR15 being used but I'd like the look to remain as stock looking as possible. I would think the factory wouild apply something to inhibit rust(even though it's a Van Nuys car).

My '69 was fully undercoated. It was a Van Nuys car and apparently came from the factory this way. When I stripped it off there was no rust underneath - everything was in great shape.
I went ahead and re-coated it myself. I used good quality spray bombs and put a couple of coats on everywhere before bolting anything back on. My viewpoint was that the original stuff had protected the car well for many years and since my car is a driver I wanted that level of continued protection.

RockyMtnRacer..I do believe my 69 has a full a full undercoat from Van Nuys. I'm a little confused by 'spray bombs. Are you refering to aerosol spray can undercoating or something else. I curious about your car. Does your new undercoat still look relatively stock?

My '69 Van Nuys car is not undercoated. It is black with Rallye green overspray. It did (does) have undercoating in the rear wheel wells.
Why do you guys think your undercoating is factory?

I guess I have no really valid reason for assuming it was a factory undercoat. It just seemed to be well done and wasn't sparyed over everything underneath - just all the sheet metal parts. I suppose it could have been done by the dealer or some other shop? All the metal underneath the undercoat was new and shiny so at the least I'd guess it was undercoated when it was still new.
"Spray bombs" are just spray cans. I think I bought mine from Eastwood at the time so they were a good quality. Since I just realized my original undercoat may not have been factory I have no idea if my replacement job looks "stock". Seems to be doing the job though.

I'll have to agree with RockyMtnRacer. I have no clear way of knowing that the factory undercoated my car. It just looks well done and it's very evenly applied. That made me ASSume it was done at the plant. Another question, I have sealer applied to the weld areas on the floor pan butt areas. If I need to replace a pan any ideas on duplicating the sealant?

I just got done replacing both floorboards from firewall to under the rear seat. My original floors were undercoated, but I have no clue who did it. The floors rusted from the inside out. Right or wrong, I used East wood Corraless(sp??) as a primer for the whole undercarriage and then sealed all the seams with seam sealer, and sprayed everything with Eastwood Chassis Black. I'm not going to undercoat anything. But, then again, this car will never see rain or snow again.
