when i'm shifting from drive to reverse the engine stall's (in idle).
can you help?
someone told me it's something with the carb' because it's a rochester.

yes the idle set to low bat still the engine stall.is it something with the vaccum?

I would get the engine running at the proper idle rpm per the service manual and put a vacuum guage on the engine and adjust the idle screws until you get the highest vacuum you can get and this should put you very close to where you need to be. Just don't over do the adjustment and get the engine to rich and also this adjustment may have to be done in drive (please refer to service manual) and block the wheels.
