I put my console back together this weekend. :hurray: I used oven cleaner on the plastic parts and a plastic bristle bursh (36 Grit) on my grinder for the metal parts. Everything was painted with Landau Black interior paint. The plastic parts were first sprayed with plastic prep and sand free. All the paint was from Eastwood. I used .0001 steel wool on the chrome which actually look good before I started. I bought an interior hardware kit because most of the old screws were rusted beyond use. It worked out well except that I only got half the number of screws needed to attach the chrome to the plastic base. Here is a pic of the business end.

Looks great. I did mine a few months ago with aftermarket gauges. I didn't do the chrome though.

Thanks for the kudos. It was not a high priority on my restoration list but when it is 12 degrees and snowing in Northeast Ohio one tends to look for projects that can be done inside. Spring is just around the corner isn't it?

Scott - I actually did a search and read your post before I started. It helped me a lot. Thanks.
