OK, I took some pictures of the fender lip and was wondering if this would be the correct wat to go about it. As you see the fender is round ,duh. I just can't understand how a round fender lip us going to be rolled square up without deforming the outer lip.... The problem is I hear some guys are just cutting off what they don't need, BUT if that is done your cutting off all the welds that hold the inner fender well to the outer! I was thinking of making a bunch of 1/2" cuts around a 1" apart then use the rolling tool to flip the lip up. I still would have some attachment points. I have the chrome molding that goes over the lip when I'm done to cover up any mistakes. As you see in the pictures I already pre-drilled the mounting holes closer to the lip so when the molding goes back on and I trim it I can re-attach it without any trouble. I then can scribe from the inside of the well to cut the molding the size of whats left of the mounting point.

Do you think I'm going about this correctly? I'm not doing it for a couple of days so any suggestions are welcomed!

Ive never seen anyone make all those cuts in it. Itll bend straight up without cutting so often, if ya take your time doing it. Most people are more worried about cracking the paint than deforming the outer lip.

Mine was rolled without making all of the cuts. I didn't do it, it was done when I got the car, but it definitely does just roll up and not crinkle; no need for the surgery.

A little UPDATE...
I got the roller and I did not work very well. Let me clarify a little. If I was just rolling the outer fender it would work very well. The problem I had was the inner well and outer quarter extended in to the well the same. So trying to roll both of them just wouldn't work. Here's what I did so far.. I ended up just cutting off 1/2" of the lip with a cutoff wheel. I made sure some of the tac welds were still there. Once It was cut off ,I tac welded 5 spots of the lip/well together. Then I sealed the seam with rust encapsulator putting 2 heavy coats to fill in all the gaps. Once that was done I put the silver trim back on. Here's when the roller comes in. I rolled the thin trim ring up and around the cut edge and It made a nice molding to cover the cuts. I now have 12" from the inner well to the inner edge of the quarter.

Anyone with rolled lips, How many inches do you have from inner to lip?
