: brace between inner and outer rocker
Hammered69 Mar 5th, 07, 06:23 PM Does anyone have a picture of the brace between the rear of the inner and outer rockers? I am trying to make this piece, but so much is rotted away, I can't tell if it is suppose to be solid at the back.
Here's a link to the picture:

gene_sc Mar 5th, 07, 07:26 PM Here's the only pic I have of the gusset, the end is sealed by the inner/outer wheelhouse

Here you can kinda see how the wheelhouse seals the end

bearcat44 Mar 5th, 07, 07:42 PM You know you can buy both sides for 60 bucks right? I know I wouldn't want to fab it. Just a thought :)
Hammered69 Mar 5th, 07, 07:57 PM no way, both sides for 60 bucks, I haven't seen them!
I wasn't sure of the name, kept looking for braces!
Time to look for gussets
Gary L Mar 5th, 07, 08:54 PM You guys amaze me with how much you put into these cars!:hurray:
I am stripping my virtually rust free body for paint and I am worried what I will find under the paint at ther bottom of the quarters.:o
Hammered69 Mar 5th, 07, 09:12 PM Thanks for the pictures, that helps a lot!!!

My bad they are 69 dollars for the pair. This is the site. They are a perfect fit as I have used them on goodmark rockers.
The part is called Rocker panel support and it will save you a TON of work.
Cheers
Hammered69 Mar 6th, 07, 09:08 PM Thanks a lot, I've been searching all over for that!!!!!
I really appreciate it!!!!!:beers:
bearcat44 Mar 7th, 07, 08:39 AM No problem. Its one of those little known parts but very helpful. I bought mine from these guys and they got it to us quickly
Hammered69 Mar 7th, 07, 10:40 AM Now if I could find the front subframe mount that attaches to the firewall and floor, I wouldn't have to fabricate anything!!!!
Shouldn't be too hard though, just the bottom is rotted.
Cars and the NorthEast don't fair too well.
Thanks again,
Bill
MrAbody Mar 7th, 07, 12:57 PM The killer thing is you *KNOW* they make it since they repop the ENTIRE 69 shell, Something just don't seem to be available individually.
bearcat44 Mar 7th, 07, 01:55 PM They repro that too. Its attached to the part called "lower firewall". Most who need to replace body perches need to replace the toepans anyway and all is in one piece for less than 300. Restoration world and Classic has them. When I pick mine up this weekend all take a pic. Only way to go in my book. Hope this helps someone because I've spent days tracking this crap down.
bearcat44 Mar 7th, 07, 01:58 PM Its funny Hammered. Mine car came from Ohio and it has rotted the exact same way. We have been working on it for a while now. We're replacing both rockers, the floor, the lower firewall, and anything else thats sure to reer its ugly head. Oh well its half the fun eh?
