hello all. the past two days i've spent tearing apart the front suspension and noticed something curious. my right lower control arm has two extra holes in it, as if for another bumpstop. it seems to be opposite the front bumpstop holes, and the left one only has two holes for a front bumpstop. are all right lower control arms like this? any reason someone would drill them? my car is a 400k miler with the original upper ball joints, so i don't think alot of 'customizing' took place with her, like drilling holes in the lca. here are some pics that may help explain. thanks in advance for any insight...

1968 Camaros have a bumpstop on the rear edge instead of the front like 69s do. Perhaps this was drilled for both during the switch from the 68 to the 69 model year.

..and my 69's arms are exactly like yours. The right drilled, but the left not. (The left is not original for my car, and the right may not be either..)

Most later GM over the counter replacements had both sets of holes so they fit multiple applications. This control arm was also used on Nova's. GM was using one GM part# for 68-69 Camaro's and 68-74 Nova's lower
control arms. The reproductions are being done the same way. The original was probably damaged at some point and replaced.

67's had the bumpers on the sub frame
68's were on the rear of the control arms
69's were on the front of the control arms

They can all be interchanged it's just a matter of where to put the bumpers or not to on a 67
Nova's the same thing
