I am thinking of powder coating the cooling fin section and the hub section of my rotors on my 69 RS & 79 TA. Will this cause heat build-up in the rotors? Will the heat of the process cause a problem, weaken or warp the rotors.(roughly 400 degrees) I don't think that it will but was just wanting a second opinion.

These will be week-end cruisers and see sporatic trips to the drag strip. Really like the look, but don't want to cause a problem with my new drilled & slotted rotors.

Thanks

I think i'd try a coat of high temp engine paint. Much easier to do.

You don't want powder coat on the internal fins or the pad surfaces. The other areas are ok to coat but will reduce the rotors ability to cool itself slightly. Shouldn't be a problem on a street car.
