i was looking at this tag on a car on ebay, i'm no expert on decoding just trying to figure out some things, this cars vin # is 681516 and the cowl # is nor110618 with a date code of 09a , how do these #'s relate in date of production, it has x44 code. Did the nor # relate to how many x44 body cars were built? they look ok to me. I have ben told the body numbers were reset in august and the vin #s seem to line up with the 9a date which would have ben sept of 69. I am not the authorty on this subject but from what i have learned here it seems fine to me.

Numbers sequence look fine to me. It is near these two cars.

Car has good title, BUT vin plate was removed and lost when dash was cut out. title serial number matches number stamped in cowl ( see picture ) you should be able to get your state theft unit to issue you a vin plate.

I would walk away.
